#25 POLE POLE POLE!!!
I finally get that elusive pole position, and by a whopping 1.2secs at the infamous Oulton Park track. My first outing, again as you would expect this being my maiden season in racing, and I could not be more delighted with my pole position. With a lap time of 1:38.525 it went on to be the fastest of the weekend. Great job.
I arrive Thursday evening at the park. This could be considered to be my local track. Still a good 2.5hrs drive, but a lovely drive through beautiful countryside and little villages. The entrance to the circuit is through a wooded area next to the famous Druids corner.
I didn't sleep too bad that night. An early start for Friday practice, first session 9:50am. Oulton Park is a long technical circuit with lots of gradient changes, bumps, fast and flowing corners. It's the most challenging circuit to date for me.
I was setting some excellent lap times and I felt confident going into Saturday qualifying.
Here's the pole lap.
